Several years before this, in 1965, Dad wrote a program that reduced virtual war from a 15/1 to a 2/1 ratio, a code that made computer gaming reasonable as soon as the hardware could catch up. it would be years before the GUI would come around and make the code entertaining to more than a small circle of programmers.
It would be a few more Months before HP released their first entry into the home computer.

HP introduces the world's first desktop scientific calculator, the HP
The private William and Flora Hewlett Foundation is incorporated.
Revenue: $268.9 million. Employees: 13,430. 9100A. The programmable calculator stores programs on magnetic cards and lets scientists perform complex calculations without the need to access much larger computers. It is 10 times faster than most machines at solving science and engineering problems. Ads for the 9100A call the device a "personal computer," one of the first documented uses of the term.
